So good to meet you, Christopher. You had me at Jung. :) I also find it interesting to hear your take on recovery now that you are three years in. All respect on that front, truly.
And I am so sorry for your loss of your dog. I know the pain of that and it is mighty. So glad you are sharing in this community.
Thank you Allison. Nice to meet you too. Yeah, Jung was paramount to my recovery and quite certainly, to my interests. Understanding the underlying mechanisms of human behavior makes it easier (depending on my consciousness state) to accept people. It’s a never ending struggle though, my ego constantly fights to seperate yet again....the ‘you over there and me right here’.
Thanks for engaging with me. I look forward to future dialog with you!!!
Christopher, I love the stream of consciousness from which you write. It is so refreshing.
Firstly, my condolences on the loss of Skilak. I, too, have lost a beloved dog well before I expected to and the pain is deep. My dear Milo also breathed his last breath behind the scenes at a vet’s office without me by his side. I’ll never get over that. I’m glad you and your wife opened your hearts up to another furry babe. There are some folks in this world who are meant to have canine companionship and I feel you may be in that group. The pictures here of the adventures you shared with Ski are breathtaking. What a beautiful tribute this piece is to her sweet soul. I also feel cathartic after writing through difficult feelings. Keep writing about her. It will help keep that love you shared alive ❤️
And I look forward to seeing and hearing more of Ami. You’ve inspired me to write more about my girl, Stella. She’s also a rescue - 11 years old and has been slowing down lately. We were told she’s a Lab/Shepherd mix but that ain’t true. She’s a Carolina Dog (American Dingo). She was found abandoned on the side of the road down in Georgia as a pup. We’ve had her since she was 14 weeks old. She is my closest companion- no doubt about that.
And you’ve also peaked my interest in diving in more on Jungian content. I’ve dabbled very loosely. I hope you write more about that, too. 🤗
Thanks for the shout out to my stuff, too. Much appreciated and so glad our Substacks collided. 💫
I really appreciate the feedback on my story and very happy it resonated with you. I am sorry about your dear Milo. I knew others undoubtably experienced similar trageties and trauma with their beloved pets and therefore relate to Skilak. Hopefully sharing allows us all to heal.
Please give Stella a warm pet for me. I love that a abondoned dog on the road wound up in a loving home for 11 years!! I can imagine all the fun and adventures she has had with you. I look forward to hearing more about her.
Yes!!! Jung is facinating!! My hope is to intergrate him into my stories without too much ‘psych babble’. A lot of people glaze over at the mere mention of anything regarding psycology but I wouldn’t be true to myself if I didn’t talk about it in some form or another.
Thanks again for your kind response Allison. I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts and stories as well. Take care!!!!

Me, too. :)
Brutal losing a canine friend. Nothing worse. Congrats on 3 years!! Big deal. Here’s my take on what a dog can for us.
Cheers 🙏
